Job Description

Job Title: Video Editor (Contract)

Job Purpose: The Video Editor will create eye-catching video content (including thumbnails for social media posts, etc.) for the firm’s YouTube channel and for the other social media platforms as needed.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Blog Video Funnel Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

Main Tasks:
– Edit videos for different social media accounts
– Assembling raw footage, digitally splicing film and video and synchronizing them into one rough cut file
– Following a script or outline
– Inputting sound/music and graphics to enhance footage
– Clean up audio for clarity
– Add motion graphics for titles, subtitles, lower thirds, intro / outro sequences
– Improving and correcting lighting, coloring and faulty footage
– Create output files suitable for various platforms, including YouTube, FaceBook, Instagram (Stories and Posts), Pinterest, and more.
– Create thumbnails or teasers for the scheduled posts/upcoming videos
– Collaborate with different branches of Marketing in developing and producing visual materials
– Maintain branding consistency across all visuals
– Manage multiple deadlines in complete work order
– Participate in meetings with marketing team as needed to discuss project needs

Desired Experience:
– Minimum of 2 years experience in video editing using After Effects/Premier Pro or equivalent
– Must be able to create title graphics, lower thirds, credits, etc.
– Knowledgeable and skilled in creating graphics for multiple social media platforms, including best practices, constraints
– Must have a keen understanding of concepts pertaining to branding, particularly the use of colors, logos, typography and other visual elements
– Must know their way around stock photo/video sites and be able to select the right content based on the creative brief
– Must know the difference between free and royalty free and understand copyright with regards to digital assets

Experience in the following is an advantage:
– Sound engineering/production
– Graphic Design

Technical Requirements:
– Laptop with at least i5 processor (or equivalent) and at least 16GB RAM
– Video and Graphic Editing software
– At least 25mbps internet

– Dedicated to deadlines and have excellent time management to work on several projects simultaneously, efficiently and independently
