Podcast Editor

Simplified Impact is looking for a podcast editor who specializes in the podcast industry. You are responsible for the duties including: planning, editing, and publishing our client’s podcasts. You will also condense episode content, create a cohesive narrative throughout an episode, improve audio quality and occasionally create supplementary materials for the podcast.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
-Conduct the actual editing of raw recordings of the podcast by editing audio, adding clips, splicing clips, and process enhancements.
-Create a seamless stream of audio by mixing audio from other files or directly from the archival footage with the main podcast content.
-Review audio recordings and facilitate cutting things out or adding things in every podcast episode.
-Ensure that the Podcast was polished before publishing.
-Cleaning & restoring low-quality & damaged audio
-Ability to work occasional nights & weekends to ensure client success around the world
-Collaborate with the team on how to improve the quality of the sound of the podcast.
-Conduct content editing by making editorial choices on the recordings to objectively choose the right parts to be included in the podcast.
-Ensure the quality of the audio does not compromise the content.
-Diagnose technical issues from time to time.
-Assist the team in future planning and development of podcasts.

Required Skills
-Proven ability to create & consistently produce podcast content
-Editing at least 6-10 show episodes each week on deadline.
-Keen attention to detail
-Self-directed and proactive problem-solver
-Strong project and time management abilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
-Experience using project management software (experience with Click to view is a plus!)
-Proven experience with Adobe Audition
-Experience with using Google Drive & Dropbox
-Ability to edit music and place music
-Ability to compose, sound design, and arrange music stems is a huge a plus
-Cooperatively collaborates on production and post-production.
-Diligently keeping up with schedules, and workflows for all podcasts.
-Ensuring the accurate and timely management of an audio library, archives, and music.
-Managing time so that podcast episodes and special features meet regular production schedules.

Desired Skills
-Actively producing or participating in an ongoing podcast
-Experience with Adobe Creative Suite tools (Specifically Audition, Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
-Great writing and grammar skills.
-Solid knowledge of the podcast industry.
-Familiarity in the use of podcast editing software such as but not limited to Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Logic Pro X, Audacity, GarageBand, Descript, and Reaper.
-Knowledge in taking and editing raw .wav files, .mp3 files, and other audio formats.
-Great communication and interpersonal skills
-Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
-Demonstrated organizational and time management skills and works well under deadline pressure.

Experience
-Bachelor’s degree or significant experience in Communications, Information Technology, Multimedia Arts or relevant field.
-At least one (1) year of experience working, editing, and growing a podcast.
