Job Description

South Lamar Studios is looking for an experienced podcast editor for our team. An ideal applicant will be responsible for taking raw, unedited podcast footage (sometimes just audio, other times both audio + video) and turning it into polished, high-quality, excellent sounding deliverable for our clients. All of the podcasts you will be editing are in English, and comprehension of the content you will edit is incredibly important.

This role, you will be performing the following:

Audio mixing, mastering, and post-processing: This includes post-processing (leveling, mixing, etc), as well as cleanup (removing distracting noises and filler words) to create the best audio experience possible for our audience.

Audio editing & cleanup: Assembling the audio, and removing any unwanted background noise, removing pauses, “ums” and other filler words, removing segments identified by clients for removal, adding intro / outro music, and more.

Video editing: Eventually, you will be responsible for editing video podcasts as well. This includes assembling the project in Premiere Pro, color correcting, and more. Video editing does not need to be a core skill for this role, but experience using Adobe Premiere Pro is required for collaboration.

Marking podcast chapters and segments: Identifying different segments in the conversation, and writing interesting chapter names that describe what content is being discussed. This allows our audiences to easily navigate through the episode.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in podcast editing and a strong portfolio of work.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Adobe Photoshop, and Audio post-processing software. (Izotope RX Suite).
A passion for podcasts, and an understanding of what makes a podcast great.
Strong English comprehension across a wide variety of topics
Quick turnaround times, and even quicker communication with the team.
Strong collaboration & time management skills.
Receptive to feedback, and always looking to improve
Proficient in Slack for communication, Dropbox for file management, and other project management tools.

Editors will be required to complete a test assignment for consideration for this role. Details will be provided if we are considering your application.
