Now cemented itself as one of Australia’s leading innovative luxury lifestyle and design brands, with a property development and management portfolio and pipeline of over $10 billion, encompassing a wide range of mixed-use projects with over 9,000 apartments, commercial, hotel and retail across Australia.
They are now looking to hire a Portfolio Accountant to join the team.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial and project accounting, P&L management, budgeting, and bank account management at
an asset level
Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable
Review and reconciliation of fees charged by the Manager to the Fund
Monthly bank and loan reconciliations
Preparation of month-end reporting including all necessary GL reconciliations (completed promptly and all items requiring further investigation are resolved)
Responsible for the accurate monthly lodgement of BAS
Assist with compliance with regulatory and financier accounting requirements
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of statutory, management, and regulatory accounts
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
Supporting the audit process, meeting all internal and external reporting deadlines
Working with other staff including Admin, and Operations to streamline and improve processes
Work with operational teams to provide them with performance details and to ensure debtor balances are being managed on an ongoing basis
Monthly reporting packs to external Fund accountants
Assisting the Finance team with other tasks as required
Stakeholder Relationship
Assist with Portfolio reporting.
Assist with Board reporting to the client’s board.
Commercial operations
Assist with reviewing leases, targeted rents, building efficiency, insurance, and general commercial.
reviews of assets and portfolio
Systems and processes
Involved in the go-live of Yardi, implementation of Chart of Accounts, standardised reporting
templates and finance processes and procedures across the business
Requirements:
CPA or CA qualification or working towards
3 years of accounting, with exposure to property management, hotels or student accommodation will be highly regarded.
Yardi or similar property/financial management software required.
Understanding/desire to grow knowledge of general tax implications of BTR – GST, land tax, etc
Flexible, curious, and able to adapt with a solutions-oriented mindset.
Ambitious self-motivated and can evolve and grow with the business.
Ability to partner with business (non-finance) and finance teams.
Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred.
Clear and articulate communication skills coupled with an ability to distil complex financial information.
