About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Subject Matter Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing, implementing, and optimizing Power BI solutions.
Required Technical Skills
Being technically great at Power BI is much more than building dashboards. The most important skill is developing great semantic models that can answer your users’ most important business questions. To build great models you also need to understand source data in databases and the processes to consolidate and transform that data for Power BI. The Microsoft analytics world continues to evolve, and we expect you to continue to improve your skills over time.
Based on your experience, you can …
Write SQL queries to extract and manipulate data
Develop star schema semantic models using Power BI
Use Power Query to transform and load data
Produce actionable metrics using advanced DAX skills
Create interesting data visualizations with Power BI
Develop complex Excel models and pivot tables
Continuously learn and improve your Microsoft analytics skills
Required Non-Technical Skills
It’s possible to be very technically proficient and build reports that you love but that your users don’t use and don’t get any value from. A big part of the job is being able to understand your users very well, treat them like your customers, and help them achieve their goals. That means in addition to being very good at Power BI you’re also great at taking feedback well and asking great questions. You’ll be successful if your users are successful.
