PowerBI Developer

We are seeking a proficient Power BI Developer to support our team on a part-time (20 hrs/week) basis. The role involves creating Power BI Dashboards and reports, complex DAX formulas and self service visualisations. The primary data sources are Azure SQL Data Warehouse and dimension tables housed on Sharepoint. SQL skills would be ideal, but not essential.
We are a fast growing retail business with a franchisee business model. The Business Intelligence function supports Operations, Finance and Supply Chain. This results in a varied/interesting suite of reports – from tracking sales, creating incentive leaderboards and helping ensure we have the right stock, in the right place at the right price.
Responsibilities:
• Continuous improvement/issue resolution on current suite of dashboards e.g.
o Performance Optimisation
o Documentation
o Bug fixes
• Write and understand DAX formulas for complicated measures/custom columns
• Data preparation, transformation and automation
• Work Closely with the Business Intelligence function, with regular interaction and regular Microsoft Teams meetings

Technical Skills:
Essential:
• Strong expertise in creating Power BI reports, dashboards and visualisations
• Creating and reading DAX formulas for both measures and custom columns
• Use of Power Querry and M-Code, for data cleaning, prep, transformation and automation
• Understanding of Azure Data Warehouse, Sharepoint as data sources

Nice to have:
• SQL skills to create custom views, join tables in the data warehouse (DWH), prior to Power BI ingestion
• Python

Soft Skills:
• Communication: Excellent communication skills to work with the business intelligence function, the wider IT team and 3rd party service providers/consultants
• Documentation: The creation of read me pages, clearly articulating definitions and calculations on formulas
• Collaboration: Team work is very important in this role

Qualifications:
• 3-5 years proven experience as a Power BI Developer
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
