Job Description

I use videos to share interviews, new product discoveries, or market and industry insights. I want to focus on content capture and need a trusted person to convert this into short-form videos that tell a story.

My ideal video editors will be able to take my content and a project plan/creative brief and convert it into an engaging and interesting video. But to be clear, it is not just about knowing your way around the editing software; it’s about helping me tell a story with video.

Objectives of this role
• Maintain a high bar for video marketing deliverables – this is my personal brand, and I need help maintaining it
• Ensure consistency in content
• Identify and implement improvements in the video editing process
• Produce content for diverse audiences and platforms, including LinkedIn, X, and YouTube
• Keep up to date with the latest video marketing trends
• Wherever possible, offer suggestions to enhance social media and overall marketing strategies

Responsibilities
• Edit short- and long-form videos for use on my website, in presentations, and on my social media accounts.
• Ensure videos meet my specifications and guidelines
• Leverage creative notes from me to create content, but eventually need someone who can also contribute to the definition of my brand and creative style
• Evaluate projects for brand authenticity

Skills and qualifications
• You MUST be skilled in Premiere Pro and know how to use the TEAM PROJECTS feature.

• You MUST have your own current version of Premiere Pro and have access to an online resource like Motion Array for MGRTs, b-roll, fonts, graphics, and so forth.

• Capacity to communicate effectively, attention to detail, ability to pick out attention-grabbing shots, excellent storytelling skills
• Ability to work with multi-track split audio, knowledge of aspect ratios, understanding of video encoding formats, talent for sound design

Typical Workflow
• I communicate over email and WhatsApp. For video projects, we will use Dropbox (I will provide you with an account), Premiere Pro,
• I will upload to DropBox 1080p primary and B-roll footage from the project. I will also provide MOGRTS that I currently use for scene transitions and lower thirds for names and titles.
• I will provide a video intro that I created in Canva, but I will eventually enable you with my template so that you can create this and a thumbnail for each video.
• Deliverables – I expect you to deliver one 1080p FULL HD video in a 16:9 ratio in two working days. All project files are saved in the Team Project in Premiere Pro so I can access them for any tweaking I want to do to the edits.
• Once approved, you will be asked to create one to three video shorts created from the main content ( formats will include 1:1, 4:5, and 9:16)
• Final videos can range in length from 5-15 minutes, with most being 5-8 minutes.
• I average about one video request per week and have experience with other editors who complete each video in 4 to 6 billable hours.
