Job Description: Preoperative and Postoperative Phone Call Coordinator
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate individual to join our healthcare team as a Preoperative and Postoperative Phone Call Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for making preoperative and postoperative phone calls to patients, ensuring their understanding of procedures, addressing concerns, and providing support throughout their surgical journey.
Responsibilities:
Conduct preoperative phone calls to patients scheduled for surgical procedures.
Verify patient information, medical history, and surgical instructions.
Explain preoperative preparation guidelines and answer patient questions.
Provide reassurance and emotional support to alleviate patient anxiety.
Document patient responses and relay pertinent information to the surgical team.
Perform postoperative phone calls to follow up with patients after surgery.
Monitor patient recovery progress and assess any postoperative complications.
Address patient concerns regarding medications, pain management, and wound care.
Educate patients on postoperative care instructions and potential warning signs.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate follow-up appointments or additional care as needed.
Qualifications:
Clear fluent English is required
Proven experience in healthcare administration, patient care, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of surgical procedures.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or training in medical assisting, nursing, or a related healthcare field.
Prior experience in conducting preoperative and postoperative patient assessments.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices.
Working Conditions:
Remote Work Opportunity
US hours: 11am to 8pm with occasional flexibility required for patient follow-ups.
Interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
