Role Overview
As a Product Sourcing Specialist, you will support the Head of Product Sourcing and Procurement on all activities around finding and procuring products for the business. The role involves identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, enforcing quality control and compliance, and helping on the overall supply chain management to ensure a smooth and efficient procurement process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supplier Research: Research, evaluate, and negotiate with potential suppliers based on the provided brief. Recommend selections to the Head of Sourcing and Procurement, ensuring competitiveness in terms of quality and pricing.
* Order and Logistics Coordination: Oversee end-to-end new order placement, tracking, and resolution of issues with suppliers. Utilise tools to monitor progress and maintain timely delivery. Collaborate on contracts and agreements.
* Quality Control and Compliance: Establish and enforce quality standards with suppliers. Conduct regular inspections to ensure products meet specifications. Stay informed on industry regulations and compliance requirements.
* Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis to ensure competitive pricing and profitability. Collaborate with the Head of Sourcing and Procurement on finalising contracts, considering factors such as payment terms and volume discounts.
* Market and Industry Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities. Provide insights and recommendations to the Head of Sourcing and Procurement based on market analysis.
* Communication and Relationship Management: Serve as the primary liaison between the company and suppliers. Foster positive relationships, address inquiries, and communicate changes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field
Proven experience as a Product Sourcing Specialist or in a similar procurement role, as well as utilising 1688 and Alibaba effectively
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships
Knowledge of Amazon protocol, supply chain management, logistics, and procurement best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Familiarity with relevant software and tools for procurement and supply chain management
Amenable to working under Australian (Melbourne) business hours
