Product Sourcing Specialist (Part-Time)

We are seeking a dedicated Product Sourcing Specialist to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis, offering 15-20 hours of engagement each week. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding and hands-on experience in navigating the complexities of sourcing products from China. This role requires a minimum of three years of proven experience in identifying, evaluating, and securing high-quality products and suppliers within the Chinese market.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure the acquisition of competitive products from China, aligning with our company’s quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Expertly navigate major Chinese online marketplaces, specifically Alibaba and 1688, to discover and vet potential suppliers, negotiate terms, and manage relationships.
Conduct thorough market research to stay ahead of industry trends and identify emerging opportunities for product innovation and cost reduction.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand product specifications, quality requirements, and supply chain needs, ensuring alignment with sourcing strategies.
Manage all aspects of the sourcing process, from initial supplier contact to sample approval, order placement, and delivery coordination, ensuring a smooth and efficient supply chain flow.
Regularly assess and manage supplier performance to maintain high standards of quality, reliability, and compliance.

Requirements:
A minimum of three years of direct experience in product sourcing from China, with a proven track record of success.
Strong proficiency in navigating Alibaba and 1688 platforms for supplier research, engagement, and negotiation.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Solid understanding of the Chinese market, business culture, and regulatory environment.
Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
Fluent in English, with proficiency in Mandarin being a significant advantage.
