Job Title: Construction Estimator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs, coupled with excellent analytical and mathematical skills. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of construction projects, analyzing blueprints and specifications, obtaining quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, and preparing comprehensive project bids. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our projects are financially viable and completed within budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities:
1. Review and analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to understand project scope, materials, and labor requirements.
2. Utilize construction estimating software and spreadsheets to calculate material, labor, and equipment costs based on project specifications and requirements.
4. Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to determine the most cost-effective solutions.
5. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including material take-offs, labor costs, equipment rental, and overhead expenses.
6. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives to optimize project budgets.
7. Collaborate with project managers to review and refine project estimates as necessary.
8. Assist in preparing bid proposals, including compiling all necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with project requirements and deadlines.
9. Stay current with industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies to ensure accurate and competitive project pricing.
10. Maintain organized records of project estimates, bid responses, and relevant documentation.

Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field preferred.
2. Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
3. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and building codes.
4. Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
5. Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
9. Knowledge of local construction market trends and subcontractor/vendor networks.
10. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) a plus.
