Project Manager (Web Design & Development)

Elite Digital is a white label WordPress design and development agency that serves other agencies. Based in the UK but working remotely, we are a team of 15 right now, 13 of which are in the Philippines.

We’ve been trading since 2019, first under Themeco (makers of the hugely popular X and Pro WP themes), and more recently under our own name. We’ve grown steadily during that time, working with many clients around the world, but mainly in the US & UK.

Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to work with a portfolio of clients, to assist in the successful delivery of their tasks and projects.

Although you work for Elite, your first duty is to your assigned clients. You are their advocate and it’s your job to do right by them at all times. This means at times you will need to fight for resources internally, and demand the highest standards from our own team members so that you can be confident in the results you’ve obtained for your clients.

Key Skills

– Great communication, in English, both verbally and in writing. This is essential as you’ll need to discern client requirements when they are unable to articulate clearly what they need. You’ll also need to be able to recognise when intervention on tasks is required.
– Attention to detail. You must have an eye for detail and be able to think logically through project requirements. This also means being able to catch errors in work quickly and easily, and seek appropriate remedies.
– Organisation. You must be highly organised and be able to break down large or complex projects or problems into smaller more manageable tasks. You also must be calm and methodical, keeping on top of a large portfolio of clients and projects at all times.
– Flexibility. In order to support your clients effectively you may need to work outside of normal hours at times and be willing to adjust working and communication methods to meet individual client needs.
– Technical understanding. You don’t need to have a background in development but you should be able to understand how web design and development projects work, so that you can discern good solutions from bad, reasonable estimates from unreasonable, be able to discuss projects confidently, and assess whether deliverables meet the brief and are to the required standard.

Experience

We are looking for someone with at least 3 years demonstrable experience working in a project management capacity. The ideal candidate would have experience managing technical projects either in software or web development, but it’s more important that the candidate possesses the right skills than has the desired background. Equally we are happy to consider those with a freelance web design or development background who have managed their own clients and projects.

Responsibilities

– Reviewing new client instructions, then defining the task brief and deliverables.
– Determining required resources for projects.
– Obtaining & assessing estimates, team member availability and suitability to create an optimal plan to ensure successful project outcomes.
– Approving estimates and submitting to the client for approval where required.
– Monitoring the health and progress of all tasks and projects belonging to their clients.
– Proactively intervening and adjusting the plan for tasks as required to ensure deliverables are met and project outcomes are successful.
– Ensuring deliverables meet the brief and required standard, acting as the last line of defence for the client.
– Understanding client priorities and adjusting as required in order to balance the overall workload and meet their needs.
– Communicating internally and with clients, often and to the highest standard, so that all stakeholders are on the same page, know where they stand and what’s happening at all times.
– Providing support to assigned clients as required, which may include attending meetings, liaising with their clients, sharing updates in their project management tools, or other ad hoc requirements.
