Proof reader / Researcher

Proofreading:

• Proofread educational documents – word by word, line by line.
• Edit grammatical and word choice errors manually.
• Check and confirm changes are accurate as some topics are complex.

Researching:

• Conduct on-line research into a wide variety of topics using AI (Gemini and/or Chat GPT).
• Edit AI responses to ‘humanise’ content.

Essential Experience and Skills:

• Extensive and demonstrable experience in proofreading complex documents and writing. E.g. Articles, blogs, business documents etc.
• Experience using advanced versions of AI language tools.
• Absolute attention to detail.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Focus.
• Ability to ask questions and clarify information.
• Ability to work quickly and to deadlines.
• Ability to follow instructions.

Equipment Requirements:

• Up to date computer.
• Stable and fast internet connection.
• Official versions of MS Office apps.
• Two monitors are preferable but not essential initially.
• Dedicated workspace free of distractions.

Working Conditions:

• 9 am to 5 pm (Philippine Standard Time) Monday to Friday with 1 hour paid lunch break (approx. 12-1 or 1-2).
• We will not use a time tracker or desktop screenshot software, but your time will be monitored.
• You will need to log in and remain logged in to Skype for the duration of your working day and respond promptly to queries and instructions via Skype.
• You must be available for videos calls at all times during work hours.
• Paid weekly via PayPal.

Employment Terms:

• Initial two-week probationary period to determine suitability. Employer reserves the option to end employment immediately if suitability to the role cannot be assured.
• You are not permitted to perform any work duties for any other employer or freelance work during work hours. This will result in immediate termination of employment.
• You are not permitted to perform any work duties after work hours that will negatively impact your ability to perform to the required standards. I.e. a night job or extensive freelance work.
