Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Purchase Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in purchasing activities and ensuring the smooth flow of procurement processes. This role will involve weekly preparation of sales reports, management of outstanding invoices, and generating reports on the status of purchased materials.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the procurement process, including researching suppliers, obtaining quotes, and placing orders.
* assist in paying orders when accounting is not available to pay
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
*making sure all estimates are recorded properly in buildertrend especially for materials — both cost and mark up are specified
• Prepare weekly sales reports for both materials and change orders.
• Generate reports on the status of materials purchased as to paid, ordered or delivered, indicating ETA as well.
• Collaborate with accounting and design department to ensure efficient procurement and coordinate with Project Managers for fulfillment of orders.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest improvements to purchasing processes.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or any Business related course with background in accounting
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the retail or manufacturing industry.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful reports.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Buildertrend and Quickbooks is a plus
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
