Job Description

As the QA Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the quality assurance process throughout the game development lifecycle. Your role is critical in ensuring that our games meet high-quality standards, are free from critical bugs and issues, and provide an exceptional gaming experience to our players. You will lead a team of QA testers, collaborate with Project Managers, Game Engineers, Game Artists, and Game Designers, and implement effective testing strategies.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Management
-Lead, manage, and mentor the QA team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
-Set priorities and goals, oversee the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, and provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
-Develop and implement QA processes, methodologies, and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure that the team is adhering to industry standards and company policies.
Test planning and execution
-Identify opportunities for test automation to increase testing coverage and efficiency.
-Plan, review, and execute test plans created by team members, and ensure existing plans and processes are kept up to date.
Bug and Defect management
-Track and manage bugs and defects, ensuring that they are properly documented, and assigned and that stakeholders are aware of known issues before every release.
Collaborate with development teams
-Work closely with developers and project managers to prioritize and resolve critical issues.
-Ensure that testing is integrated into the development process and that there is clear communication and collaboration between teams.
Research and Learning
-Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in quality assurance and testing techniques, and incorporate these into their work.
Reporting and metrics
-Create and present reports on testing activities and results.
-Track metrics such as test case coverage and cycle time.
QA Process Improvement
-Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes and workflows based on industry best practices and evolving project needs.
-Work with the Project Managers to ensure the entire project team improves over time and learns from past mistakes. This includes reviewing critical issues, documenting action items, and attending post-mortems.
Requirements:
-Proven experience in QA testing within the game development industry, with at least 2 years of experience in a QA leadership or management role
-Strong understanding of game development processes, including pre-production, production, and post-production phases.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
-Able to work well in a remote, collaborative environment
-Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
-Proactive and creative with the drive to improve and continuously learn
-Good management skills to enable prioritization of workload
-Good understanding of the mobile games market
-Passion for gaming and a commitment to delivering high-quality gaming experiences.
