Job Title: Quality Engineer – Project Based Contract – Ad hoc work

Overview:

We are seeking a talented Quality Engineer to join our team and contribute to our commitment to delivering high-quality products and services to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for continuous improvement. The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet or exceed quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout the product life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality plans, processes, and procedures to support product development and manufacturing activities.
-Conduct thorough product inspections, tests, and evaluations to identify defects, non-conformities, and areas for improvement.
-Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and root causes of quality issues, and propose corrective and preventive actions.
-Participate in design reviews and provide input to ensure that product designs are robust, manufacturable, and meet quality requirements.
-Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection procedures, test protocols, and quality records, in compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
-Lead and support quality improvement initiatives, such as Six Sigma projects, process optimizations, and cost reduction efforts.
-Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
-Conduct supplier quality assessments and audits to ensure that external suppliers meet our quality standards and expectations.
-Collaborate with customer-facing teams to address customer feedback, complaints, and quality concerns in a timely and effective manner.
-Stay current with industry trends, developments, and regulatory requirements related to quality management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

-Good to have, but not required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering).
-Previous experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a related role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
-Strong understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis).
-Proficiency in quality inspection and testing techniques, including familiarity with measurement tools and equipment.
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex quality issues.
-Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
-Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision in all work activities.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
-Familiarity with regulatory standards and requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA regulations) is preferred.
-Professional certifications in quality engineering (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt) are a plus.
