Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage and control costs for our diverse range of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to oversee all financial aspects of construction projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strategic thinking, and effective communication to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management:

Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
Monitor and control project costs to ensure they remain within budget.
Conduct cost analysis and prepare detailed cost reports.
Identify and manage project risks related to cost.
Financial Reporting:

Prepare financial reports and updates for senior management and stakeholders.
Provide accurate and timely cost information to support decision-making.
Track and report on project financial performance, including variances and trends.
Contract Administration:

Prepare and review contract documents, including bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and other tender documentation.
Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Procurement:

Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing and evaluating suppliers and subcontractors.
Ensure that procurement activities are conducted in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Manage supplier and subcontractor relationships.
Project Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Provide expert advice on cost management and financial matters.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure alignment with cost estimates and budgets.
Continuous Improvement:

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in quantity surveying and cost management.
Continuously seek ways to improve cost management processes and project outcomes.
Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal requirements.
Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, MS Excel).
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., RICS) is preferred.
