About the Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting/Finance Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role requires a detail-oriented self-starter with exceptional organizational skills. You will work closely with Senior Leadership to ensure all accounting, finance, and project tracking processes are executed accurately and on time. This remote position demands a private, quiet workspace with reliable internet access. Some weekend work will be required

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:
Handle day-to-day accounting transactions to ensure accurate record-keeping.
Assist in timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accruals.
Manage and update records for profit and loss, liabilities, and assets within QuickBooks, and prepare monthly budget versus actual analyses.
Conduct tax basis account analyses and reconciliations to support tax return preparation and issuance of 1099s and K-1s.
Oversee payroll preparation and distribution, ensuring accuracy in HR and Accounting systems.
Process and record accounts payable transactions, ensuring adherence to company policies.

Expense and Budget Tracking:
Oversee Zoho expense reports, receipts, and mileage tracking.
Track construction project budgets and estimates, including labor, materials, and equipment expenses.
Perform post-construction analysis to develop efficiencies and progress tracking.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Provide schedules and commentary on operating maintenance account results, working capital, and cash-flow reports.
Work cross-functionally to produce financial reports and analyses, ensuring timely and accurate accounting.
Track and report on Key Performance Indicators for all business functions and team members.

Compliance and Controls:
Monitor accounting controls and policies, recommending improvements as needed.
Ensure compliance with general liability insurance, workman’s comp waivers, W9s, vendor lists, materials lists, and equipment lists.

Investor and Lender Relations:
Maintain investor and private lender relationships, creating deal one-pagers and guiding lenders through the investment process.
Ensure all private lenders, banks, and loan information in Airtable is up-to-date, and coordinate refinances and loan renewals.

Project Finance Management:
Drive construction project finance excellence, track project milestones, and manage budgets using Gantt charts and detailed expense tracking.
Process construction draws, review supporting backup, and ensure proper coding of development job costing.

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Experience: 5+ years of accounting and finance operations experience, with increasing responsibilities.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge and working experience with QuickBooks Desktop.
Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with US GAAP and ability to code transactions appropriately including intercompany, fixed assets and debt service.
Experience with bank reconciliations, variance analysis, and interest/preferred return calculations.
Industry Experience: Experience in US Real Estate and/or Property Management (preferred).
Soft Skills:
Fluent in English (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience in real estate tax, partnership tax, audit, and/or professional tax services.
Advanced knowledge of SQL, VBA, and data analysis tools.

Experience with Rentvine, Airtable, ZOHO Expense, Expensify, and workflow automation software.
