Job Description

Remote Interview Editor
When you apply, please make sure your heading reads as follows: “I actually read the instructions”
Who we are:
We’re a growing podcast production company whose mission is to bring out the genius of our client’s through creating valuable, growth-oriented podcasts.
Our mission is to “make podcasting easy” so that our clients can focus on creating a positive impact in the world. Our podcasts are mostly interview shows in niches such as business, technology, mental health, and personal development.
We’re a small (but expanding) team of hardworking and passionate individuals who want to create a positive difference through the power of podcasting.
What we’re looking for:
We need an Interview Editor! This is a remote (work from home) position.
Interview Editors need to understand how podcasts flow and what should and should not be included in an interview. They should be able to work with a tool like Descript to assemble the episode and ensure the interview flows naturally for the listener. They don’t edit the audio or adjust any of the sound, they trim and delete filler words, extra dialogue, and rambling in the conversation.
Interview editors possess a unique ability to know what information needs to be edited and what content is relevant to the subject of the show. They have a knack for understanding the flow of dialogues and a natural curiosity and drive to learn new things.
Salary & growth opportunities:
? Interview Editor Starts at $100/week + bonuses USD (20-40 Hours/Week)
? You’ll work with our operations manager as you learn the position
? You’ll be assigned projects slowly as we begin to build your confidence
? Growth opportunities
? Strong opportunity for editors to take on additional work.
? You’ll be graded on your interview clarity, reliability, and communication.
? We actively promote from within.
The ideal candidate:
? Podcasts: Some understanding of podcasts is necessary. You are not expected to edit any audio. However you should understand what typical podcasts sound like and the flow, structure of popular podcast genres.
? Editing and Proofreading: A good interview editor should have the ability to identify and remove errors as well as identify and potentially correct awkward or unclear phrasing. This means being able to cut and edit out any unnecessary fluff from the conversation and catching any mistakes in the recording and noting any specific or relevant information for the show notes.
? Content Strategy: The purpose of your position is to find and create great content for our clients. Your job is to know what someone is looking for in a podcast. You’ll be editing the interview, but this interview will be the basis and fuel for the client’s entire content strategy. So a great interview editor will see the moments and segments of an interview that will make for great social media content, promotional clips, and supplementary content.
? Descript: Some experience with Descript is required. You do not need to know the program inside and out. But you will be expected to learn how to use the program. It is a way to streamline the process.
? Problem solving: The cardinal sin at our company is asking someone a question you could have solved yourself. We need people who are willing to “figure it out” and don’t mind rolling up their sleeves. That doesn’t mean we aren’t here to support you, we are. But only when you encounter a problem that you truly can’t solve. You’re expected to bring more to the table than expected and hurdle problems, not allow them to get in your way.
What energizes you:
? Learning new things
? Collaborating with a team
? Making a positive impact
? Professional growth
This position requires…
? Strong English proficiency
? Willing to work a US time zone (if needed)
? Remote working. This position requires reliable internet connection.
? All job offers start with a 60-day trial to make sure that we’re the right fit for each other.
