BRIEF SUMMARY:

A member of a legal team that has extensive knowledge of the law and legal matters, but is not necessarily a qualified lawyer. The Paralegals perform a variety of tasks to support lawyers including maintaining and organizing files, conducting legal research, and drafting documents.

JOB TASK:
– Draft and file documents in court
– Write letters of representations and motions
– Create a record chart and record summary for each client case
– Draft pleadings and petitions
– Draft Petitions and Discovery

QUALIFICATIONS:
– A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Law graduate
– With at least 1 year of work experience as a Paralegal.
– Experience in a US Law firm is a plus!
– With a solid knowledge of legal terminology, legal procedure, and substantive law
– Understands the principles of legal writing
– Knowledge of attorney-client relationships applicable to the performance of major duties and responsibilities of the position
– Master skills in basic principles, concepts, and methodology of legal proceedings and legal research
– Excellent English oral and written communication skills
– Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
– Has exceptional organizational skills and is able to multi-task
– Ability to work with databases and online technological platforms
– Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible
– Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with little direction or need for supervisory follow-up
– Proficient command of the English language in both oral and written format
– Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various backgrounds and professional competencies
– Committed to maintaining integrity and confidentiality on behalf of the company, the firm, and its clients
– Willing to work on the Pacific Daylight Time schedule
– Own a Laptop or Desktop (8GB RAM, Core i5 or above) with an internet connection of at least 10mbps

SALARY RATE:
– Local Law firm experience: $5/ hour (40 hrs per week)
– w/ US Law firm experience: $6 / hour (40 hrs per week)
