Position Overview:
We are seeking a professional and empathetic Remote Receptionist to join our American law firm specializing in criminal defense, family law, divorce, and personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong sense of empathy, and the ability to handle sensitive calls with grace. This role requires a commitment to learning about our diverse practice areas and understanding the needs of our 40+ team members. We pride ourselves on a superior client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, ensuring callers feel heard and supported.
Provide accurate information about our legal services and direct calls to the appropriate team members.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Schedule appointments and manage calendars for attorneys.
Take detailed messages and ensure they are delivered to the right person in a timely manner.
Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
Continuously learn about our practice areas to better assist callers.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a phone-based customer service role, preferably in a legal or professional setting.
Familiarity with Polycom VOIP phone systems is highly preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to handle calls from American clients with diverse backgrounds.
Empathy and patience to deal with callers who may be experiencing stressful or emotional situations.
Ability to remain composed and professional in handling sensitive calls related to offenses like murder, rape, child sex abuse, or significant personal injuries.
Flexibility to work various hours as needed, up to 40 hours per week.
Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
