What we’re looking for:

We need a new short form video editor

This is a remote (work from home) position.

We need a person who can watch our long form video podcast, find the 20-25 best moments in each show and then edit those moments for social media

Our short form video editor understands changing social trends and implements them with us

This job is partly creative and partly repetitive. We need someone that can operate within our ongoing production workflow, but also wants to create new and exciting content

The role of short form editors is rapidly changing due to artificial intelligence and we want to hire someone who can implement this new technology to make their job more efficient

Salary & growth opportunities:

Short Form Video Editors start at $1,000 per month
You’ll work under our creative director as you learn our process and needs
You’ll be assigned new tasks slowly as we build your confidence
You’ll be graded on your ability to deliver our ongoing minimum assets and on your ability to create catchy new assets

We want to hire a team of short form editors and people to manage this team. You will be the first of this team
We have 1 podcast currently and are planning to launch a second within the next 6 months
You get bonuses directly related to content that accumulates large view counts
We actively promote from within. You will be at the forefront of a rapidly growing team

The ideal candidate:

Adobe Premiere / Davinci Resolve: These are the two pieces of software we use and you can use either one or both but you must be proficient in at least one of them. Everyone has and is entitled to their own editing workflow but we all need to be able to communicate in a common language.

Changing trends: Social media trends change constantly and quickly. Music, editing trends, visual styles, and technological tools change fast and we want to stay at the forefront of all of them. The ideal candidate is someone who not only enjoys editing short form video but also wants to make an impact on the short form video culture. We want to participate and lead in cultural trends, we want to create content that is visually stunning and we want to use the newest and most powerful technology that is available at all times.

Understand dialogue that sells: Our best hire knows what dialogue will resonate best with online consumers and knows how to choose the exact right moment to start and end a clip.

Make sure you’re comfortable with:

A mix of repetitive and creative work. It will not be glamorous editing every day
Remote working. This is a remote (work from home) position
All job offers start with a 90-day trial to make sure that we’re the right fit for each other
We are a new company so the on-boarding processes and our workflow systems are not as robust as they will be. We need you to stay flexible with changing job rules and communicate often

This requires people who work in pre-production, guest booking, people who build sets and film episodes, people who edit and master audio, people who create short form content out of these episodes, and the people who share it on various social media platforms.
