Remote Work Opportunity for Accountant (US Ecommerce Company)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our finance team at a growing ecommerce and Amazon seller. The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 years of prior accounting experience, including a background in ecommerce and/or Amazon companies, external audit for at least 2 years. Holding a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is a prerequisite for this role. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for financial and general accounting, as well as asset management, assist with payroll accounting, internal management reporting, business analytics and will play a key role in our end-to-end finance and accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities – What duties are you responsible for?
– Financial and General Accounting: Oversee day-to-day financial transactions and record-keeping of an ecommerce company with direct web sales and Amazon sales. Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US accounting standards.
– End-to-End Finance and Accounting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage all aspects of the finance and accounting process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies, guidelines and procedures. Work in the business to help company leaders make decisions on the ecommerce business based on past data and future forecasts.
– Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated on USA financial regulations and compliance requirements to ensure the company’s adherence to all relevant standards.
– Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to provide insights for decision-making and budget planning. Experience with Xero is preferred. Experience with ecommerce, Amazon, digital sales is highly preferred.
– External Audit Experience: Leverage your 2 years of external audit experience to ensure our financial records meet audit requirements. Coordinate audit activities, liaise with auditors, and provide necessary documentation.
– Asset Management: If you have experience in asset management, actively oversee the company’s asset portfolio, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal.

Qualifications – What makes up the ideal candidate?
– 3 to 5 years of proven experience in accounting, with a strong background in ecommerce financial and general accounting.
– A minimum of 2 years of experience in external audit, with a strong understanding of audit processes and compliance.
– At least 2 years of experience in an ecommerce industry (Shopify or Amazon Experience Preferred)
– CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is mandatory.
– Knowledge of asset management is a significant advantage.
– Proficiency in accounting software Xero, Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
– Excellent communication skills to collaborate with both internal teams and external auditors.
– Experience with payroll accounting for remote workforce
– Knowledge of USA financial regulations and standards.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team during U.S. work shifts.
– High level of integrity and professionalism.
