JOB OVERVIEW:
The Reporting and Analytics QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data and reports. This role involves validating and testing data sets, reporting mechanisms, and analytics tools to ensure they meet business requirements and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, quality assurance, and a keen eye for detail.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Validation and Testing: Conduct thorough testing of data sets, reports, and analytics tools to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Requirement Analysis: Review and analyze business requirements and technical specifications to create detailed test plans and test cases.
Defect Tracking: Identify, document, and track defects and inconsistencies in data reporting, working closely with developers and analysts to resolve issues.
Automation: Develop and implement automated testing scripts and procedures to streamline the QA process.
Reporting: Generate and distribute detailed QA reports and metrics to stakeholders, highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with data analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to understand data flows, reporting requirements, and system functionalities.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies, ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in SQL and data querying languages.
Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
Familiarity with QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Certifications: ISTQB certification or similar QA certifications are a plus.
Other Requirements: Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and excellent communication skills.
Ability to interpret complex data sets and identify discrepancies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively report findings and collaborate with team members.
Proactive in identifying issues and proposing effective solutions.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Flexibility to adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies as required.
