Position Overview
The Research Analyst/Product Developer plays a pivotal role in our product development lifecycle. They are tasked with conducting comprehensive market research, analyzing existing products, and spearheading initiatives to enhance product offerings. Reporting to the Product Developer Manager, this role requires a meticulous approach, analytical mindset, and creative thinking to drive success in product development.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research:
• Ideate new product concepts based on market trends and customer needs.
• Conduct in-depth market research, including sales distribution analysis, reviews analysis, product differentiation strategies, and more.
• Collaborate with suppliers to communicate research findings and guide product development.
Launch Preparations:
• Conduct keyword research and create selling points briefs to inform product launches.
• Develop quality control (QC) inspection files to ensure product quality and compliance with brand standards.
Existing Products Analysis:
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify potential threats and opportunities.
• Analyze customer feedback and return/refund reasons to identify areas for product improvement on a monthly basis.
Optional Tasks:
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for recurring tasks.
Success Metrics
A successful Research Analyst/Product Developer will:
• Identify key product features and customer needs through comprehensive market research, leading to the development of customer-centric product offerings.
• Analyze customer behavior and feedback to gain insights into their needs, preferences, and pain points, guiding product development efforts.
• Proactively monitor the competitive landscape to identify emerging competitors, potential market share risks, and anticipate and mitigate any loss in market share.
Primary Objectives
• Research, identify, and develop high-quality products aligned with brand identity and profitability goals.
• Monitor existing products and market dynamics to safeguard market share.
Goals
• Successfully launch a specified number of profitable products by year-end.
• Maintain or increase market share for existing products.
• Reduce return rates of products through continuous improvement initiatives.
Mandatory Meetings
• Weekly one-on-one calls with Product Developer Manager.
• Additional meetings as required/requested.
Role Requirements
• Experience developing products
• Market research experience, specially online (Amazon)
• Good communication skills
• High level of personal accountability
• Exceptionally detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy.
• Analytical thinker capable of identifying market trends and opportunities.
• Innovative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.
