Job Description

The research/data analyst must collect industry and financial data of public and private companies across AU/NZ. The analyst will need to source the company data from filings from various sources like stock exchanges, company websites, regulatory body & third-party vendors and compile relevant market data including, lists of competitor information, customer demographics, and factors influencing product demand.

The ideal candidate would have experience in data, research thoroughly via all publicly available sources, and be a strong written communicator. Character-wise would be self-motivated and detailed. Background, likely someone that has done something similar i.e. S&P CapIQ, Factset, an outsourcing business, market research (Nielsen, Gartner).

Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and process financial market data from various data sources and into the database utilized by the team.
Focus and ensure that the integrity of the company’s financial market information is intact.
Provide timely, accurate, and reliable demographic and statistical financial market data on the internal database and to internal/external clientele.
Reporting and maintaining records of work done on a timely basis.
Oversee data collection, research, and analysis that are integral to our client’s decision-making processes.
Preparation of concise and well-written reports that display a high standard of written English
Articulate the outcomes of research
Generation and compilation of relevant market data including, competitor information, customer demographics and interest, and factors influencing product demand.
Forecasting and tracking of industry marketing and sales trends.
Collect and maintain research database for market transactions and on stakeholders to leverage market intelligence
Set up systems and processes for collating and managing research
Tracking micro and macro-economic data on a national and individual state level
Providing analysis, interpretation, and insight into the data for the business
Providing research and analysis support for all business functions and ad hoc projects

Requirements
Proven work experience as a Research/Data Analyst is required
Computer Literacy to effectively use the database and software for the collection and processing of content/data
Good communications skills – written & verbal
Numerical skills to ensure understanding of the financial data to be collected and/or processed
Analytical skills and detail orientation to ensure the accuracy of data
Good Knowledge of financial markets and accountancy (as needed) to ensure an effective understanding of assigned content/market
