Residential Construction Quantity Surveyor (Open to Learning Australian Standards)
MK&S Constructions Pty Ltd is a Residential Construction company specialising in residential renovations, extensions, additions and new home builds in North-Western Sydney, Australia.
MK&S Constructions Pty Ltd is in search of a professional Quantity Surveyor for residential construction projects, open to learning and adapting to Australian construction standards and practices. While prior knowledge of the Australian construction industry is not necessary, you must be willing to learn and invest time into gaining that knowledge. Steve will be there to help you at every step.
Responsibilities:
– Develop a thorough understanding of Australian construction standards, regulations, and materials through proactive learning and on-the-job training.
– Collaborate closely with Steve to accurately estimate costs for residential jobs and projects, ensuring compliance with all local requirements.
– Develop Scope of Works for each project
– Use Buildxact to produce accurate Gant chart schedules per job, and coordinate purchase orders are sent to relevant suppliers and subcontractors so materials are ready on site.
– Analyse architectural drawings and specifications, seeking guidance and clarification on unfamiliar concepts related to Australian construction practices.
– Engage with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry professionals through email to expand knowledge and network within the Australian construction industry.
– Provide support to MK&S Constructions Pty Ltd and stakeholders by offering insights and recommendations based on acquired understanding of Australian construction standards.
– Undertake all modules for Buildxact software in the first 2-3 days on the job.
– Familiarise yourself and gain a thorough comprehension of all Australian Building Standards (to be provided)
– Undertake relevant construction system and process training from TPB Coaching modules and adapt and implement for MK&S Constructions
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
– Strong willingness to learn and adapt to Australian construction standards and practices.
– Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
– Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.
– Prior experience in quantity surveying or construction-related roles is preferred but not required.
– Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic work environment.

-Flexible hours. Preferably align your time zone with as much of the Australian time zone (AEST) as possible. There will be very specific metrics to be met and you must be contactable within those hours.
