We are seeking a deadline-driven, energetic, and positive Resume Writer responsible for creating resumes, cover letters and LinkedIn profiles that highlight the skills, experience, and accomplishments of assigned clients. They may also be called upon to provide general career advice or guidance on how to best present oneself in an application or interview with guidance from the Resume Writing Manager.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about writing, extremely detail-oriented, and have a deep understanding of what employers look for in candidates, what qualities make someone stand out from the crowd, and what makes one resume more appealing than another.
Job Responsibilities
• Deliver all work on or before the prescribed deadline (24-hour, 2-Day or 3-Day turnarounds) to drive a positive client experience and win customer loyalty.
• Reviewing job descriptions and other documents provided by employers to ensure the resume you write is tailored to each position
• Reviewing client submissions to gather information about their work experience, education, skills, and other qualifications to create a targeted resume that best highlights their qualifications
• Writing cover letters that introduce the applicant and explain why they are qualified for the job in question
• Reviewing resumes for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors
• Writing effective resumes that highlight a candidate’s strengths, skills, and qualifications
• Conducting research on potential employers to determine how the company operates and what its hiring needs may be
• Drafting letters of recommendation for clients who are applying to graduate schools or seeking other professional opportunities
About You
You are deadline-driven, work quickly, and are focused on delivering quality, error-free work. You thrive in Microsoft Word and Trello and have a natural aptitude for words and translating rough ideas into concrete facts that compel the reader to learn more. Above all, you are extremely punctual, and deadline-driven, and love working in fast-paced environments with little to no supervision.
Requirements
• Must submit 1 (one-page) resume sample and 1 (one-page) cover letter sample at the time you apply to be considered.
• Fluent in English is required, (Expert-level reading, writing, and speaking).
• Must be able to meet a 24-hour, 2-day, or 3-day turnaround time (Based on client request) for task completion.
• Intermediate to advanced-level Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in email applications (Gmail, Outlook, etc.).
• Excellent communication, time management, editing, and proofreading abilities.
• Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to requests.
• Strict confidentiality when handling sensitive and/or private client information.
Preferred Qualifications
• 1+ years of content, business, or other professional writing.
• Preferred knowledge of HR & recruiting/talent acquisition.
• Experience writing technical resumes (software engineers, developers, etc.) a plus
• Proficiency in Trello
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, English, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
