Job Description

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Insurance Follow-Up Specialist to join our team!

In this crucial role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring timely reimbursements by following up on unpaid insurance claims. You’ll be responsible for collaborating with various insurance companies and internal departments to resolve issues and maximize collections.

What You’ll Do:

– Proactively identify and follow up on outstanding claims within designated timeframes.
– Collaborate with Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Commercial insurance companies to investigate claim denials,
missing information, and delays.
– Analyze trends and identify recurring issues related to billing and reimbursements. Report findings to Team Leader for
continuous improvement.
– Maintain clear and accurate documentation of all claim communications and supporting details.
– Effectively communicate with insurance representatives, both verbally and in writing, to ensure accurate claim processing.
– Leverage expertise in navigating Payer Web Portals to track claim status and resolve discrepancies.
– Manage assigned caseloads efficiently, ensuring all accounts are reviewed at least once within a designated timeframe (e.g., 15
or 30 days).
– Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
– Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and software, including various physical therapy billing
systems.

– Minimum Qualifications:

– High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
– 3-5 years of experience in medical office billing (physical therapy billing a plus).
– Strong understanding of basic third-party insurance plans and billing procedures.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with insurance companies and internal teams.
– Proficiency in navigating online portals and healthcare billing software.
– Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
– Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently.
– Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
– Strong work ethic and commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
