Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Technician on a contract basis to support an Architecture team for 3-6 months. This role would suit someone with experience in a previous role and who is able to hit the ground running.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop concept designs prepared by Principal and Senior Architects
Develop 3D CAD models for client presentations
Prepare DA and CDC submission drawing sets
Produce full architectural drawing packages for construction
Ensure designs comply with Local Council and CDC requirements
Follow specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings
Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems
Perform calculations for materials and weight limitations
Structural drafting and modelling of building and infrastructure engineering projects in Revit of varying scale and complexity to the required standards.
Conduct and coordinate internal reviews and checks of drawings and project documentation
Communicating with architects and engineers, and incorporate knowledge gained into drawings
Ensure final designs are compliant with Australia’s National Construction Code and Australian Building standards
Identify and communicate potential design problems to the rest of the team
You will be a technical expert supported by a likeminded team that is driven by a passion to help clients achieve their home design goals
Other ad hoc duties relevant to the role

Education and Work Experience:

Minimum (5) years’ experience with Revit
Tertiary qualifications in engineering or architecture
Previous experience doing luxury residential stand-alone homes
Experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD)
Must have an experience working with REVIT, BIM and 3D modelling
Have a high attention to detail and able to deliver projects within stated timelines
Ability to work independently and in a team
Ability to respond well to feedback and maintain a positive attitude
Ability to think outside the box and proactively execute exquisite designs
Able to work AEST office hours (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm)
Able to start immediately
