ROLE
This position is focused on supporting the Product Management team with a combination of helping the team to manage inventory, logistics, and working with suppliers. In addition, you will help to create, source and order new products for the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management
The ultimate goal of this position is to never run out of inventory on a product while at the same time not over supplying goods to the Amazon warehouses.
Maintain an IPI score above minimum 500 on Amazon.
Coordinate with 3PL’s, warehousing solutions, and freight forwarders to ensure our inventory is accounted for at all times.
Maintain and update inventory quantities, location, and forecasts.
Product Sourcing
The Product Sourcing Specialist role is to work with the Product Development team to create and order new products for the company.
You will ensure we are getting reorders of existing products on time and with the best prices possible.
Quickly facilitating the delivery of new product samples so we can complete our Product Pipeline is an essential part of the Product Sourcing assistant role.
You must also find and build long-term relationships with product suppliers that can yield increasing profits over time.
This role will work closely with both the Operations and Brand management teams to ensure inventory is always in stock, not overstocked, and that our product concepts are created in the most cost-efficient way possible.
RESULTS
Inventory Management
Our IPI score is always above Amazon’s minimum for no restrictions (currently 500)
We maintain inventory levels that prevent stock-outs, but don’t create an surplus
Inventory is accounted for during production, shipping, storage, and in sellable conditions.
Up-to-date metrics are always available when needed
Communication with factories and shipping partners is productive and further develops a positive relationship for our brand
Our inventory management software is well-maintained and provides clarity into where our inventory is located and its associated costs
Updates to inventory status are made whenever inventory is purchased, shipped, or moved across warehouses.
Forecasts for future purchases are maintained and updated weekly
We are 100% clear on the whereabouts of our inventory at all times
Product Sourcing
Customers on Amazon leave 5 star reviews because the quality of our products is top-notch
Suppliers manufacture our products on time and with a consistent standard of high quality
Order inspections are routinely carried out and we never have an issue with the quality of products delivered to the customer
Samples are ordered, inspected, and delivered to the Product Developers so we can make the necessary adjustments to create a high quality product that improves the lives of our customers
Mutually beneficial relationships are established with all manufactures, trading companies, freight forwarders, and warehouses.
Negotiations with suppliers creates a positive ROI for the company
REQUIREMENTS
Must have current or prior experience managing inventory for an e-commerce company (Preferably Amazon private label)
Someone who is already deeply involved in inventory management
Knowledge of production capabilities, sales and supply trend
Experience working with 3PL services is highly preferred
Experience working with freight forwarders and various suppliers
Experience in working within a sourcing agent setting
Strong time management skills
Organized and able to handle the development of multiple products from multiple factories simultaneously
A keen eye for detail
An understanding of how the Chinese manufacturing industry works
Able to communicate with China during Chinese working hours
Excellent proficiency in English (Both spoken and written).
Ability to plan and execute strategies independently that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
Ability to work remotely and possess his/her own laptop with a high-speed connection
Highly analytical and a problem solver
Takes initiative and a self-starter
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and achievement-oriented
Excellent proficiency in English (Both spoken and written).
Proficiency in Asana, Slack, Excel, Google, Office, Loom.
Ability to plan and execute strategies independently that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
SALARY
Starting at $2-3/hr (depending on experience). Full Time (30-40 hrs/week) with potential for success bonus incentives once proven
