Rockstar SEO Content Writer
SUMMARY
This is a remote position that requires a stable, high-speed internet connection. A hybrid work schedule is available, but you must be able to work Monday-Friday am-5pm EDT for the first 60 days.
Contractor Scale is looking for a creative, highly-motivated, badass SEO Content Writer to join our fast-growing digital marketing agency. This role requires someone who can research topics and be creative with our client’s content strategy and writing styles. You must be self-motivated, organized, and possess strong self-editing skills. The ability to collaborate and communicate with internal and external teams is a requirement.
You must have a strong understanding of how Google ranks websites and Google Business Profiles (GMBs), what organic ranking factors have the most impact, and common SEO tactics that should be avoided. This position requires the ability to create and implement new pages, content, and menus on WordPress websites.
Most importantly, you must possess the ability to confidently work quickly and accurately.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
> Content Writing – Research and write 4,000+ words/day of search engine optimized content that is enjoyable to read for blogs, service pages, area pages, and more. This content must be researched for accuracy, self-edited, and published on WordPress websites and Google Business Profiles accordingly. AI-generated content is strictly prohibited.
> Search Engine Optimization – Expertise with using SEO best practices to write creative copy that includes effective keyword placement. This includes but is not limited to adding title/meta/alt tags, developing geo-relevant content, creating content silos by interlinking internal pages based on the search terms our clients are targeting, and more.
> Media – Apply images and videos to WordPress websites. Images must have the appropriate title and alt text based on the search terms each page/post/website is targeting.
> Standard Operating Procedures – Work within company SOPs while also communicating potential roadblocks or procedures we could implement to improve the way we work.
> Support – Directly support the Fulfillment Team as needed. This includes executing fulfillment tasks that may fall outside of our SOPs to meet deadlines and ensure positive client results.
> Internal Communication – Communicate clearly, promptly, and concisely with the internal team members and third-party partners via email, Slack, Zoom, and phone.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
> Attention to Detail – Focused attention to detail, excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and work well under pressure and tight timelines is required for this position.
> Problem Solving – An advanced drive to identify problems and proactively and implement solutions is required.
Communication Skills – Must be able to communicate in all areas of the business at the highest levels. Must be able to effectively present information to team members and managers.
> Passion/Attitude – Up-to-date with the latest content writing techniques and SEO trends. A willingness to work in a collaborative environment and go the extra mile. A positive mindset is a requirement.
> Content Writing – 3+ years of professional writing experience, especially with digital platforms, demonstrated in a professional portfolio. Advanced written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of the English language.
> Marketing – At least 3 years of digital marketing experience is preferred for this position.
> Project Management – Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously.
> Education – College degree with a focus on English, journalism, communications or a related field preferred.

JOB TYPE AND COMPENSATION

Pay is based on experience. Bonuses and raises may be issued on an annual basis based on performance.

Once this position is mastered, there is an opportunity to advance to the administrative side of this department.
SCHEDULE
– A hybrid work schedule is available, but you must be able to work Monday-Friday 10am-7pm NZT for the first 60 days.
– Additional hours may be required to ensure the successful outcome of client results and that deadlines are met.
* You must be comfortable using time tracking software as we allocate this to client work
