Rooms Division Managers oversee a hotel’s front desk, guest services, and housekeeping department teams. They report to General Manager and play an important role in ensuring a high level of guest service. In addition to the atmosphere conveyed by hotel reception halls, the appearance and daily work of the hotel receptionists are decisive for the immediate impression that hotels leave on their guests. Hotel receptionists and their team at the reception are not only the proverbial calling card of the respective hotel and are not only jointly responsible for the subjective well-being of the guests, but also for the objective satisfaction with the service of the hotel.
Room Division Manager Responsibilities:
Rooms Division Managers lead, control, and supervise the Front Desk, Guest Services, and Housekeeping departments.
They work closely with Reservations to assure and maximize occupancy rate and revenue and they are also in charge of providing all necessary forecasts.
This is a key position since the Rooms Division leadership will directly impact the operational team’s motivation and actions (e.g. front desk agents, bell boys, housekeeper, and concierge) – this is the team that is actually providing the service for the guests.
Organizing, planning, and managing the daily tasks and operations of the division.
Evaluating the division’s performance and identifying areas of improvement.
Providing technical direction and professional support to division personnel.
Ensuring that staff members comply with the policies and procedures of the division.
Assisting with employee recruitment, as well as overseeing the onboarding process and training of new division staff members.
Working with the financial department to plan and develop your division’s monthly budget.
Reviewing office operations and reporting any issues to senior management.
Working with the HR department to handle all inter-division disputes and conflicts.
Room Division Manager Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree ideally in hospitality or a similar field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role.
Excellent knowledge of management best practices and strong managerial skills.
Solid communication and team working skills.
Good conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
The ability to navigate stressful work situations.
Excellent customer service skills.
Great delegation skills.
