The Sales and Logistics Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the sales team and logistics functions. This position involves a combination of sales support activities, administrative tasks, and customer service responsibilities to ensure efficient and effective business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Support:
i) Assist the sales team in generating leads, prospecting, and acquiring new clients.
ii) Assist in conducting research to identify potential customers and gather market intelligence.
iii) Assist in preparing sales presentations, proposals, and quotations for clients.
iv) Coordinate with dispatch team, to ensure smooth execution of delivery orders.
v) Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records and databases.
2. Logistics Coordination:
i) Coordinate and arrange the transportation and delivery of goods for clients.
ii) Communicate and negotiate with truckers, and other service providers to obtain competitive rates and ensure timely delivery.
iii) Prepare and process shipping/ transportation documentation. Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and provide updates to clients.
iv) Resolve any logistical issues or delays that may arise during the transportation process.
3. Customer Service:
i) Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide information about services, rates, and shipment tracking.
ii) Maintain good relationships with existing customers, addressing their concerns and resolving any issues.
iii) Collaborate with the dispatch team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of containers.
iv) Assist in resolving customer complaints and escalating complex issues to the appropriate department.
Qualifications and Skills:
o A bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
o Previous experience in sales support, logistics coordination, or administrative roles is an advantage.
o Knowledge of the freight forwarding industry, shipping procedures, and logistics operations is beneficial.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, service providers, and internal teams effectively.
o Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
o Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and logistics software.
o Attention to detail and accuracy in handling sales and logistics documents and records.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
o Fluency in English is required, both written and spoken.
