Our Client runs is a leading facilitator of general merchandise sales for suppliers and distributors since 1983. They specialize in connecting retailers in various industries, including grocery, convenience, hardware, and more, with a diverse network of non-food product vendors. Their mission is to help retailers and vendors maximize their non-food sales, enhance their general merchandise program, and optimize their overall operations. They are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join their national team. As an SDR, you will play a crucial role in generating new business opportunities by identifying and qualifying potential customers for our general merchandise products and services. Your primary focus will be to initiate contact with leads, nurture relationships, and schedule meetings for their sales team. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a strong sales aptitude, and a passion for building client relationships.
Responsibilities:
Conduct market research and identify potential customers in the grocery, convenience, hardware, and related industries.
Proactively reach out to prospects via phone, email, social media, and other channels to generate interest in our general merchandise products and services.
Qualify leads by assessing their needs, budget, and purchasing authority.
Engage in consultative conversations with prospects to understand their pain points and present relevant solutions offered by NFM.
Articulate the value proposition of our products and services effectively to potential customers.
Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategies for lead generation and conversion.
Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through diligent lead tracking and follow-up.
Schedule meetings and product demonstrations for the sales team with qualified prospects.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all prospect interactions in the CRM system.
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for qualified leads and meeting bookings.
Requirements:
At least 3-5 years ofwork experience as a Sales Development Representative or similar role, preferably in the general merchandise or related industry.
Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to engage prospects in meaningful conversations and build rapport.
Self-motivated and target-oriented mindset with a desire to achieve and exceed goals.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a remote team.
Proficiency in using CRM software to manage leads and track sales activities.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
