Irongate Business Partners started as a bookkeeping freelance business in the USA, but has begun growing into an accounting and finance consultancy, with the foundation of bookkeeping as its core offering. Irongate Business Partners is seeking an individual who has the skill sets and knowledge base of a seasoned bookkeeper, but also one who wants to grow in their skills to have the ability to be a leader and consultant in their own right. Irongate found a successful relationship with an awesome guy on this platform in early 2023 and to date that relationship is going strong. We’re growing, and would love some additional help!
The work, to start, will be simple. Nearly all of the business for Irongate is located on Quickbooks Online, and the work will include simple categorization, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and small year-end cleanup projects. However, larger multi-year cleanups and more complex clients litter the project list, and the expectation for those well acquainted with QBO will be to start moving into the complex work sooner rather than later. In addition, the channels for accounting systems like Sage (any/all series), Restaurant 365, Quickbooks Desktop (any/all series), and even the likes of Zoho and Xero are beginning to open.
What is Irongate seeking in an ideal candidate?
– requisite knowledge of Quickbooks Online at the very least, with ideally experience in one or more of the systems listed above
– tenacity to understand and execute projects and proactively ask questions
– someone who truly wants to provide a better life for their family
– detailed and not afraid to back up their work
– someone with the courage to stick out the work even if in the moment it seems overwhelming (it is, after all, just work)
What are Irongate’s requirements to consider a conversation with you?
– bachelor’s degree in business/finance/accounting
– at least 2-5 years of Quickbooks Online experience, enough to walk through various aspects of this system from memory
– Quickbooks ProAdvisor
– prior experience working on multiple bookkeeping projects at once (doesn’t have to be many, just multiple)
– experience with adjusting entries and the closing process for accounting records
– Bonus points if you have verifiable experience in niches like restaurants, construction, franchising, fund-nonprofit, etc
Do you fit most or all of the ideals and requirements above? If so, I would enjoy a conversation to see if we’re a good fit.
Irongate seeks to make a profit, but only within the boundaries of what is ethically and morally acceptable. The people that work with Irongate deserve to be taken care of, and every effort will be made to ensure Irongate compensates the people that work with fairness and generosity. The expectation, therefore, is that the person Irongate works with will match that with effort and output. This is not to say Irongate will look over your shoulder at every turn and micromanage you, but rather that Irongate takes its reputation with clients seriously and the hope is that you honor that with excellence in your work and habits as we work together.
On reaching out, please provide the following in addition to a brief background of yourself, why you left your previous employer, and what you’re hoping to find in a new employer:
– years/months of quickbooks online experience
– list of accounting systems used outside of qbo, if any
– list of third party systems used (, , dropbox, lastpass, etc)
– a single quote that sums up your outlook on life.
I look forward to our conversation!
Thank you,
