Job Description

Hi there! I’m hiring a part-time (kick-ass) bookkeeper with experience managing bill pay queues, creating proper financial processes, and navigating the monthly close process for our travel & wine business. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of GAAP and will be comfortable jumping right in and contributing towards reconciling our books, processing invoices, and a variety of other bookkeeping and accounting related efforts including several special accounting projects to start. A component of this role is to create financial systems and processes to support our business operations as we scale.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
-Ability to create a comprehensive process and system for managing supplier payments working in tandem with our operations team
-Maintain our books with the precision of a paring knife
-Reconcile bank transactions (weekly)
-Correctly categorize business transactions and assign to each client project (daily/weekly)
-Process and manage vendor invoices (daily/weekly)
-Log payroll and generate associated journal entries (semi-monthly)
-Assist with the monthly close process and generate financial statements and full reports (monthly)
-Prepare client invoices and backup materials (weekly)
-Data entry: enter wine purchase orders and inventory into Quickbooks and manage inventory on books
-Maintain an organized and streamlined accounting system
-Provide administrative support to management as needed
-Create financial reports / projections to allow us to manage beter the company finances and cash flow

ABOUT YOU:

For this position, you must possess the following qualities to be successful:

-Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (or relevant experience)
-At least 2 years of experience as a bookkeeper working with US-based businesses
-Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and follow-through
-Experience working with Quickbooks Online
-Expert Google Apps proficiency (i.e., Google Docs, Sheets, etc)
-Excellent communication skills and outstanding math skills
-Fast implementer & self-starter
-Dependable & trustworthy
-Detail-oriented and a proven passion for finances and finding ways to save our business money
-Have a “get the job done” attitude & ethic for hard work
-Go above and beyond what is asked of you. Strive for excellence and improve the company’s performance and service.

ABOUT COMPENSATION:

-Part-time, hourly around 15-25 hours weekly with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position as the company grows
-Pay weekly
-Could become a full time role based on performance after 4-6 months.
