We are seeking a talented and passionate animator to create short, engaging animations for our Montessori-inspired educational content aimed at toddlers (primarily focused on ages 1-3).
Responsibilities:
* Support the Founder/CEO and COO to develop storyboards and scripts, collaborating with the content team to translate Montessori activities into visually appealing animations.
* Create high-quality 2D animations in a clean and simple style that is age-appropriate and engaging for young children while being low stimulating.
* Animate characters and objects with a focus on clear communication and demonstration of Montessori activities.
* Integrate elements of movement, sound effects, and background music to create a captivating and educational experience.
* Ensure animations align with Montessori principles – ie support of our educational professional team- emphasizing exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning.
* Maintain a consistent visual style across all animations.
* Meet deadlines and work collaboratively with the production team.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in 2D animation, preferable in children’s content.
* Strong understanding of animation principles (timing, spacing, anticipation, etc.).
* Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate characters and environments.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Proficiency in animation software such as Adobe Animate, After Effects, or Toon Boom Harmony.
* Ability to adhere to deadlines.
* A passion for early childhood education and a desire to create meaningful content.
Bonus points:
* Familiarity with Montessori education and its core principles is a plus.
* Experience with creating animations for educational purposes.
* Understanding of child development psychology.
* Ability to create animations in a short turnaround time.
* Experience with creating motion graphics or explainer videos.

While we are still in the early stages of building and we are looking to stay within a very limited budget to start, we want to find someone willing to work with our team at a limited capacity in which we will iincrease pay as we scale out. Equity in the company is also an option for the right fit.
