About Our Company: We develop engaging educational content for toddlers, designed to spark a love for learning through play. Our products incorporate the principles of Montessori education and utilize high-quality animation that is engaging and fun.
We are Looking For: A creative and enthusiastic Character Designer to join our team and help bring our lovable learning companions to life for our web series. We will begin with animated shorts, and upon attaining investment, expand to 15-20 min episodes. No animation required as we have an animator on board, but need someone to create bring the initial vision to life!
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the development team to understand the educational concepts and target audience for each character.
* Develop a range of initial character concepts, exploring different styles, personalities, and ethnicities.
* Work closely with the team to refine and finalize character designs, ensuring consistency and appeal for young children.
* Create detailed style guides for each character, including facial expressions, body proportions, color palettes, and clothing variations.
* Maintain a strong understanding of current trends in children’s animation while staying true to the 3ontessori Interactive brand identity.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years of experience as a Character Designer or a related field (e.g., illustration).
* Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of character designs and styles, with a focus on children’s illustration or animation preferred.
* Excellent understanding of anatomy, color theory, and character development principles.
* Proficiency in digital illustration software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar).
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
* Passion for early childhood education and a love for creating engaging characters for children.
Bonus Points:
* Experience working in the educational content creation industry.
* Familiarity with Montessori principles.
* Ability to animate basic character movements (a plus, but not required as we have an animator).
