Role Overview:

A well-established boutique accounting and consulting firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience, be CA or CPA qualified, and possess a strong understanding of Australian accounting concepts and taxation laws. The role involves tax compliance, financial reporting, and providing value-added services to businesses, including preparing financial statements, income tax returns, BAS and IAS returns, and offering accounting advice. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will manage end-to-end financial processes, provide bookkeeping and payroll services, and ensure the quality of work by reviewing team members’ outputs. The candidate should have excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills, and be willing to work collaboratively as part of a team. Responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS/IAS returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals in Australia on an annual and quarterly basis.
Provide income tax and accounting advice to clients as needed.
Liaise with clients, the ATO, and ASIC as required.
Oversee the end-to-end financial management process, including General Ledger management, Fixed Assets, month-end reconciliations, and preparation of detailed financial reports.
Prepare month-end reporting, cash flow forecasts, and balance sheet reconciliations for clients.
Perform full bookkeeping and payroll services for clients regularly, including tasks such as supplier statement reconciliations and GST classification.
Review the work of other team members to ensure quality and accuracy.
Utilise software such as Xero, Xero Tax, and Hubdoc, with exposure to audit preferred.

Requirements:
Minimum 4+ years of experience in accounting.
CA or CPA qualification required.
Previous experience in a Big 4 or Mid-Tier Accounting Firm preferred.
Strong understanding of Australian accounting concepts and taxation law.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
