Position Summary
To support UBTA and its clients to achieve financial reporting and tax deadlines, objectives, and
targets. The Senior Accountant carries out professional accounting duties related to aspects of financial, tax, and management accounting.
Responsibilities
• Ensure that all financial and reporting obligations are properly interpreted, recorded, and
supplied to the relevant recipients per agreed parameters and deadlines.
• Support the Account Manager in preparing financial statements and income tax returns.
• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns including income tax, FBT, RWT and
GST.
• Support the Account Manager in international and indirect tax, for all client entry structures.
• Assist in year-end closing and audits.
• Prioritize efficiently and effectively when executing several deliverables.
• Maintain and balance accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with day-to-day financial matters, reports, and questions.
• Analyze financial records and make adjustments as needed.
• Participate in daily team meetings to provide updates on engagement progress and technical
knowledge sharing.
• Provide mentorship/coaching and training to junior staff when/if required.
• Delegate and review the work of junior staff.
• Maintain client IRD accounts by responding to IRD queries within the team on time.
• Manage ad hoc project work when required.
• Assist with Annual tax management for clients.
• Attend TEO courses when required.
Requirements
• Should be a CPA or CMA
• 5+ Years of Overall combined accounting and finance experience
• New Zealand Tax Knowledge is advantageous.
• Experience in Xero is required.
• End to End-to-end accounting experience is required.
• Computer Literate and have high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with creating financial statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must have excellent communication skills – verbal and written
• Willingness to work in New Zealand Working Hours – 4 am to 1 pm Philippine Time
• Willingness to work or relocate in the Angeles City Pampanga Office.
