Job Description

Job Title: Senior Accountant Shift: Flexible Time (6-8hrs per day)

Job Summary: The senior accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and analysis. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
Generate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, such as management, investors, and regulatory agencies.

General Ledger Management:
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Review and post journal entries as necessary.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to management.
Recommend adjustments to budgetary allocations as needed.

Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
Identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the financial data.
Present findings and recommendations to management.

Audit and Compliance:
Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings.
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.

Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
Implement best practices and automation tools to improve productivity.
Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation preferred).
Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in accounting or finance roles, with increasing levels of responsibility.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero, QuickBooks).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
