Senior Accountant – Full Time Opportunity

I am recruiting for Profitability Partners, a fractional CFO business based in Florida within the United States. We are looking for a senior accounting profile to work long term within our business in a full time capacity as one of our first overseas staff. This will be a role with significant growth opportunity as this individual will be able to continue with us long term and eventually be responsible for managing other accounting staff as the business continues to develop. We are looking for someone who is already experienced, is plug and play (working independently), very timely, and is familiar with working with small and medium sized businesses, e-commerce businesses, and start ups and performing the full suite of accounting functions. Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Transaction Classifications
Ensure accurate recording, categorization, and timely reconciliation of all financial transactions.

Bank Reconciliation
Consistently reconcile bank statements to guarantee the integrity and completeness of financial records.

Accounts Payable & Expense Management
Manage all aspects of accounts payable, including verifying expenses, ensuring timely payments, and monitoring outstanding liabilities.

Accounts Receivable, Collections & Cash-in-transit Management
Oversee the accounts receivable process, manage timely invoicing, handle collections, and supervise cash-in-transit activities.

Payroll Management
Administer the payroll function to ensure accurate compensation, handle related payroll tax submissions, and maintain employee payroll records.

GAAP-Compliant Accrual Based Financial Statements
Prepare and review financial statements ensuring they are compliant with GAAP accrual-based accounting standards.

Accrual Estimates & Schedules
Calculate and record accrual estimates and maintain comprehensive associated schedules.

Financial Analysis & Reporting
Perform actual-to-plan financial comparisons, generate detailed variance reports, and provide valuable insights into financial performance.

Client Management & Advisory
Serve as a primary contact for clients, address inquiries, and offer proactive advice on financial matters to improve business operations.

Audit Support & Management Accounting
Collaborate during internal and external audits by providing essential documentation and insights.
Create budgets, forecasts, and participate in strategic decision-making processes.

Software & Payment Processors Proficiency
Display proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Wave, and others.
Handle specialized reconciliations for payment processors like Stripe, PayPal, and Elavon.

Continuous Improvement & Professional Development
Engage in ongoing professional development, stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and pertinent tax law changes.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
CPA certification is essential.
A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with a preference for prior roles in accounting firms.
Proficient in both GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
Proficient in both accrual and cash-based accounting methods.
A C1 level or higher proficiency in English.
Familiarity with AP, AR, Payroll, and Invoicing functions.
Demonstrated experience in serving small and medium-sized businesses.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
A proven track record of upholding confidentiality and maintaining professional conduct.
Capable of working with urgency and extremely timely with work and meeting deadlines.

With this addition, the candidate would be expected to have a robust understanding of both U.S. (GAAP) and international (IFRS) accounting standards, ensuring they’re capable of providing comprehensive financial services to clients that might have global operations or reporting requirements. Candidate will be paid as a contractor.
