About The Role
As a Senior Back-end Developer, you’ll lead our development team, combining front-end and back-end technologies to create and improve our websites and applications.
You’ll also play a key role in making sure our digital platforms are secure and work smoothly, directly contributing to our flagship program Future Firm Accelerate, and making a real difference for our users and our company.

What Your Day-To-Day Will Look Like
1. Technical Documentation & Version Control: You’re tasked with creating and updating essential technical documents, such as guides, API documentation, system architecture diagrams, and project requirements. Additionally, you’ll manage version control with tools like Git, ensuring code and document changes are tracked and team collaboration is optimized for consistent tech system integrity.
2. Coding and Backend Development: You’ll spend time writing and reviewing code, focusing on integrating front-end and back-end systems seamlessly. This includes developing new features and functionalities, ensuring they work well and meet our user’s needs.
3. Tech Oversight: You’ll oversee the implementation and regular updates of security measures, keeping our systems safe from vulnerabilities.
4. Team Leadership and Collaboration: You’ll provide guidance and support to our tech team, helping to resolve technical issues and ensuring best practices in coding and development. You’ll also work closely with other team members on joint projects, ensuring a cohesive approach to problem-solving and project completion.
5. Communication with Third Parties: Regular interactions with third-party service providers will be part of your role, especially when resolving bugs and critical system issues. This ensures any external challenges are dealt with promptly, maintaining our operational efficiency.
6. Database Management: Managing and optimizing the database for performance and stability is a key responsibility. You’ll ensure that data storage and retrieval are efficient and secure, contributing to the overall performance of our applications.
Problem-Solving: Each day brings new challenges. You’ll be expected to quickly and effectively address development issues, security concerns, and any bugs that arise, prioritizing tasks to maintain the smooth operation of our platforms.
What You Need to Succeed
Minimum of 8+ years experience in back-end development, alongside some front-end development experience
Expert knowledge in PHP and object oriented programming
Experience with Git and other version control systems
Experience in WordPress development
Manage tech risks by assessing and mitigating potential threats to our infrastructure and coordinating with third party security experts to adopt best practices.
Strong software troubleshooting skills
Ability to write codes, spot errors, and edit codes within BuddyBoss or similar platforms
Ability to troubleshoot and fix back end issues in a timely manner
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a technical team
Excellent ability to manage tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines
Availability for immediate consultation and emergency website situations
Strong and stable internet connection required
Assets (Plus)
Mobile app development experience specifically ReactJS (preferred but not required)
Experience developing on BuddyBoss or BuddyPressExperience
Experience with membership sites
Good knowledge of Javascript/jQueryExperience with HTML5, CSS3 and responsive design
