Who you are
• Tenacious, curious, passionate
• Professional, autonomous & self-motivated
• Demonstrated experience of working in high performing software teams
Required Experience
• 5 Years+ Java Development experience – Spring, JUnit, JDBC, etc
• Strong Experience in PostgreSQL, preferably in high-write and high availability environments
• Previous experience building Web Services – in particular RESTful APIs
• Experience developing distributed systems or microservices
• Developing within existing SDKs to extend functionality on third party platforms
• Source Code control – Git, bitbucket, etc
• Atlassian suite – Jira, Confluence, bamboo, etc
• CI/CD pipeline creation and management
• Test driven development using automated UI testing frameworks (eg Selenium, fitnesse, etc)
• Great communicator with excellent spoken and written English
Desirable experience
• Previous experience with GIS, mapping or GPS tracking platforms will be highly regarded
• Familiarity with AWS or GCP hosting environments
• Familiarity with CloudFlare, Akamai or similar CDN and web security products
• Experience with designing systems with high concurrent user/transaction volumes
• Previous experience in mission critical ‘always-on’, high security system development
• Use of time series databases – TimeSeriesDB, InfluxDB, prometheus or other data historians
• Background in SCADA, industrial controls or IoT platforms a plus
