Senior/Lead Backend Engineer (Java)

Location of Work:
Ayala North Exchange Tower 2, Intersection of Ayala Avenue and Salcedo St., Makati City
Hybrid schedule: 2 days on-site and 3 days remote.
Total weekly hours: 40 hours.

Position Summary:
– Take charge of a team of backend engineers, ranging from small to medium in size, overseeing the complete lifecycle of designing, crafting, testing, and implementing backend systems known for their scalability and efficiency.
– Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional units, including product managers, frontend engineers, and data scientists, fostering the creation of groundbreaking solutions and products.
– Champion the adherence to agile methodologies within the team, ensuring the punctual accomplishment of project milestones.
– Cultivate and sustain top-notch code quality while ensuring the team rigorously adheres to coding, testing, and deployment best practices.
– Guide and mentor junior engineers, offering them invaluable technical expertise and assistance, facilitating their professional growth and skill advancement.
– Assess and propose novel technologies, tools, and frameworks that enhance the backend systems’ efficiency and scalability.
– Collaborate with the IT team to establish and uphold secure and compliant systems and procedures.

Requirements:
– Possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or possess equivalent practical experience.
– Accumulate a track record of 5+ years in backend engineering, which includes a demonstrated history of designing and constructing backend systems with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
– Hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in leading backend engineering teams and delivering successful projects.
– Exhibit adeptness in Server Side Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST, Maven, Github, and other pertinent open-source Java Libraries.
– Familiarity with cloud-centric infrastructure and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
– Demonstrate a sound grasp of Data Structures & Algorithm concepts, showcasing your ability to tackle intricate problems effectively.
