Role Overview:

Our next Senior Full Stack Engineer is a skilled software developer who knows and loves
Ruby, Rails, Bootstrap, React, and JavaScript, and is someone who can jump in headfirst and hit the ground running on new features and bug fixes for a subscription-based LMS, course creations and hosting platform.
We are looking for a senior developer who will take ownership, is proactive and willing to make our software and architecture better, perform code reviews, take ownership/ improve the release management process.

Responsibilities:

Managing all development and maintenance of a subscription membership platform
that allows its subscribers access to our LMS system along with the ability to
create courses, live video stream content, course hosting, and a directory to
sell their courses.
Own the back end, primarily Ruby on Rails as well as front-end development,
using React and Javascript, as well as Bootstrap.
Create and maintain API integrations with 3rd party service providers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of professional experience in software development with a focus on Ruby on Rails (RoR).
Proficiency in Ruby programming language and Ruby on Rails framework.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, React, and jQuery.
Familiarity with UX/UI development tools and design principles.
Optional: Experience with BulletTrain for feature flag management and Koudoku for subscription billing.
Experience with payment gateway integration, particularly with Stripe.
Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git, and experience with GitHub.
Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working with relational databases like MySQL.
Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms like Heroku and AWS (RDS, S3).
Familiarity with cloud services such as Cloudflare for content delivery network (CDN) and security.
Experience with Ruby’s caching mechanics to optimize application performance.
Proven track record of working on large-scale projects with complex requirements.
Experience integrating and maintaining API access with various external third-party services.
Familiarity with data storage third-party providers such as Cloudinary and Vimeo.
Experience with background job processing mechanics, particularly using Sidekiq.
