Job Description

Working Time zone – Pacific Standard/Daylight Time

General Summary:
Senior Support Technician is strong in Azure, network engineering, identity management, server, VoIP and front-end support. This person should be able to execute with a high degree of success in integrating and/or solving problems in environments rich in Windows Server, Office 365, Network switching, VPNs, Firewalls, backup systems, and more. The more truly capable the Support Technician is in all these areas, the higher the utility value.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Experience required with Windows desktop operating systems
• Experience required with Windows server operating systems
• Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity
• Experience with routers and firewalls
• Experience with Terminal Services
• Understanding of the relationship between switches, patch panels, and connecting nodes to a network
• Strong Understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and Other Network Protocols
• Working Knowledge of Firewalls – Datto, Sophos, Sonicwall, Fortinet
• Working Knowledge of Wireless Technologies
• Working Knowledge of Azure AD
• Familiarity with any of the following ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Connectwise, Autotask, and the like)

Credentials and Experience:
• Support technician with at least 4 years’ experience (MSP experience a huge plus)
• Minimum 4 years’ experience – Switching, VLAN, Routing, Firewalling Support
• Minimum 4 years’ experience – Server Hardware Technologies (CPU/RAID/Storage) Support
• Minimum 4 years’ experience – Data Backup and Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus Support, VPN Connectivity Support
• At least one certification is preferred. The following certifications are preferred: MCITP, MCP, CCNA/CCDA/CCNP, Security+, Network+, Apple, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+
• Solid dependable Support Technician, follows directions and maximizes billing opportunities
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or any related field
