HappyWP is looking for a motivated Senior WordPress Developer that is up for becoming part of the team for long-term growth.
This role will start out as part-time. For the right candidate, our goal is to transition this into a full-time role.

Monthly tasks include:

– Perform monthly support requests from clients
– Develop WordPress themes for new client projects.
– Develop and manage custom and sometimes complex WordPress-based solutions.
– Create or customize plugin features for client websites (WordPress)
– Ensuring high performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the WordPress CMS.
– Work to resolve issues related to WordPress websites and client hosting
– Assist in maintaining client’s website speed performance and security.
– Troubleshoot and debug code.
– Helping to create a scalable development process.
– Help maintain our hosting servers.

Qualities we are looking for:

– English fluency
– At least 5+ years of experience with developing custom WordPress themes and/or plugins.
– A free thinker, willing to look for answers
– Excellence in coding HTML5, CSS3, PHP and JavaScript.
– A team player who is happy working in a small team of 5-10 people.
– Strong communication skills.
– Experience in web hosting performance and security issues.
– Responsive: Quick with email and chat communication

Preferred expert knowledge of:

– WordPress
– PHP
– HTML
– CSS (SASS)
– JavaScript
– MySQL
– Gutenberg and creating custom blocks for WordPress.
– Advanced Custom Fields Pro.
– Git and version control in a team setting.
– Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats.

Special requirements:

– Your own Internet connection and some kind of backup internet
– Have a headset or microphone (for team meetings)
