JOB DESCRIPTION
The SharePoint Development Team focuses on developing and supporting technical solutions, working with IT Teams and Business Stakeholders to support business process automation throughout the organization using SharePoint Online and Power Automate out-of-box. The role of Business Systems Analyst is to Microsoft Office 365 & SharePoint Developer is to develop, test, implement, support, and document solutions for our company, focused leveraging out-of-box SharePoint solutions with minimal customization. This will be completed across platforms including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform, and Azure solutions.
As an IT Business Systems Analyst – SharePoint, you will be responsible for understanding the business process, collecting requirements within the constraints of out-of-box SharePoint Online (SPO), while translating the business’s requirements into a Business Requirements Document (BRD) in adherence to Microsoft’s best practices SharePoint development. This includes conducting interviews with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to elicit and identify user requirements as necessary. As part standard process of collecting sign-off on developed solution, work closely with Project’s Business Systems Analyst and Business Stakeholders to move all developed Forms/applications to Production.
You will also be responsible for becoming familiar with the existing solution while continuously evaluating requirements against existing functionality of solution and providing recommendations for improving application’s User experience by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications within the parameters of out-of-box SharePoint functionality. To provide quality control, having experience in creating, developing, configuring, and customizing SharePoint Online out-of-box solutions using Sites, Sites Pages, Libraries according to company standards specifications is necessary to create technical documentation adhering to out-of-box SharePoint capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Capture, analyze, and document business requirements, workflow processes, process improvements, and reporting needs, considering standard out-of-box functionality in SharePoint Online
• Validate requirements collected are successfully incorporated and tested as solution is being built based on the requirements collected as part of
• Translate business requirements to technical requirements in conjunction with technical team.
• Collect and document workflow requirements, notification needs, and reporting needs related to each element of the solution, including ensuring that for each Form within
• Document and gain approval for requirements from Manager, Developers, and business sponsor.
• Maintain effective communications with IT Manager, project managers and team members.
• Trace requirements to deployed solution to ensure all the requirements are met. Participate in development, testing, and deployment process as needed.
• Develop test plans and build use cases and test scripts. Coordinate functional, accessibility, and user acceptance testing. Complete functional testing and management of bug resolution as needed.
• During Team Meetings, provide status updates and reporting while meeting project schedule, deadlines, milestones, and budget. Advise IT Manager of technical issues, development barriers and resolutions to ensure on target delivery of solution.
• Provide use cases and applicable details for development of training and user documentation. Assist in developing training documents needed.
• Create / Review Technical Requirements Document, maintaining and updating document as necessary to ensure all technical details are captured for troubleshooting use of peer-developers.
• Document designed technical solutions SharePoint and Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate) and SPfx, by creating required Runbooks.
• Perform Development testing prior to handoff of Unit Testing to Developer and SharePoint Administrator providing for Unit Testing.
• Continuously evaluate existing applications and platforms, providing recommendations for improving application performance by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications. Participate on teams that outline the process and scope out the improvements that can realized through the application solutions.
• Adhere to White Cap standards and procedures, ensuring compliance to required technical documentation including BRD, Runbooks, training document, etc. May need to assist in defining development guidelines and standards with Snr. Business System Analyst and IT Manager.
• Troubleshooting SharePoint issues related to in-house SharePoint/Power Automate solutions.
• Provide support in the full systems life cycle that may span a broad range of applications to ensure application software solution is delivered on time and within budget.
• Participate in the deployment of new SharePoint/Power Automate application upgrades and fixes to the production environment, as needed. Make modules production-ready by moving them to libraries, completing forms and version control documents, following procedures, etc. Validate deployment.
• Provide production support; Troubleshoot existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies of developed solutions, document possible next steps.
Team Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively to meet targeted timelines of team’s projects, while self-managing work assigned for that project, understanding the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail with high levels of accuracy.
• Meet with the team members weekly/daily to discuss/document current and planned activities discuss/document risks and/or issues, and report progress across all development efforts.
• Participate in collaborative technical assessment sessions to ensure applications development is adheres to White Cap standards, ensuring overall development will can be supported by peer-developers.
• Work and schedule working sessions with Peer-developer and Business Systems Analyst to move business process automations to Production.
• Collect the Business Sign-off of developed solution, including Unit Testing sign-off with Developer and UAT Sign-Off from Business Stakeholder.
• Meet regularly to hold and participate technical working sessions with Snr. Business Systems Analyst and peer SharePoint / O365 Developers to strategize technical solutions.
• Analyze and interpret complex problems or processes that span multiple business areas, identify, and understand requirements, and develop SharePoint / Power Automate solutions with out-of-box functionality, only customizing as last resort.
EXPERIENCE
• Well versed in BABOK or other applicable Business Analyst certifications.
• Proficient in working on SharePoint Online, including site collection administration, site design, and customization. Experience with the M365 Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Proven ability to work closely with end users and customers to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex problems and develop creative solutions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. Positive attitude and a customer-focused mindset. Experience working in an agile environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
• Associate degree in information technology preferred
• 5+ Years of working experience with Microsoft (Office) 365 Suite
• 5+ Years of delivering Forms/Applications working directly with the project team
• 5+ Years using SharePoint Online to deliver Out-Of-Box solutions, such as Forms, Out-of-Box Home Landing (Site Pages), and Dashboards (utilizing SharePoint Lists / Libraries/ Views)
• 2+ Years in working experience in unit testing, including understanding SDLC
• 2+ Years in SharePoint Administrator Role, with in-depth knowledge SharePoint Online fundamentals such as Sites (classic, modern), apps, audiences, libraries, lists, views, forms, workflows, metadata, and web parts.
• 2+ Years of working experience with Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate)
